Insight

The scale and complexity of the WHS Regional Meeting 2026 required an influence programme, not just an events programme. Every element was designed to produce the conversations and commitments that define what happens to African health policy in the years that follow.

01

The Challenge

The World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2026 faced a challenge common to large-scale health policy gatherings: how do you move a conversation beyond the room? Events of this scale frequently produce exceptional dialogue that dissipates the moment delegates depart.

The brief was not simply to organise a world-class gathering — it was to design an influence programme that transformed the conversations inside the room into policy commitments, stakeholder relationships, and actionable resolutions that would shape African health policy in the years that followed. That requires a fundamentally different design logic from a conventional conference.

02

Our Approach

Newmark applied the Neuro-Influence Framework™ from the outset — mapping the stakeholder landscape, identifying the specific influence objectives for each audience segment (health ministers, multilateral organisations, clinical leaders, media, and civil society), and designing every programme element to serve a defined influence outcome.

The communications strategy was built to run before, during, and after the event itself, with each phase designed to build on the last. Speaker selection was governed by influence logic, not seniority alone. Session formats were designed to produce outputs, not conversations.

03

Execution

Newmark led stakeholder communications, speaker coordination, media strategy, and the complete influence architecture across all three days. The programme ran at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi from April 27–29, 2026, under the theme 'Real Conversations. Actionable Resolutions.

New Dawn for Africa's Health.' Partners included WHO, the Ministry of Health Kenya, AfricaCDC, and Aga Khan University. The event was opened by the President of Kenya. A dedicated media strategy ensured coverage across African and international health media, with a live broadcast infrastructure reaching audiences beyond the room.

04

Results

The WHS Regional Meeting 2026 produced 400+ sessions across three days, with 16 health ministers, 3,000+ leaders from 80+ countries, and 400+ speakers. The event generated a formal set of actionable resolutions — not policy aspirations but concrete commitments, documented and tracked post-event.

Media coverage reached every major African health publication and multiple international outlets. Delegate feedback placed it among the highest-rated health gatherings in Africa. The influence programme produced what a conventional event does not: a set of relationships, commitments, and documented outputs that outlasted the gathering itself.
